The problem is that it's easy to rot against opponents who don't use prone, and it doesn't have any additional effects when released, so there's no point in recruiting it from Idea.
For better or worse, I can't find any appealing points except for the historical value that defines the concept of a vassal, so I think it's difficult to adopt.
